Description
Understand auditing independence violations by analyzing real-life case studies.
This course is designed to give practitioners insight into what can go wrong when it comes to independence. Throughout this course we will examine the disciplinary notices related to Rule 204 that sets out the standards that CPAs must uphold to maintain their independence in any audit and assurance engagement.
By analyzing disciplinary notices, participants will understand what type of circumstances lead to independence violations, how these impact conduct on the engagements and the overall process used to discipline independence related misconduct.
Practitioners will understand how disciplinary panels judge misconduct incidents and the types of remedial and disciplinary actions delivered by the Professional Conduct Committee. The course will also include a whitepaper that summarizes the research associated with Rule 204 including summary insights and a "cheat sheet" reference guide.
