Description
This seminar will provide participants with an overview of Part I – International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) related specifically to the presentation of all the statements and related note disclosures for all areas, with an emphasis on quality presentation and disclosure. The course also incorporates the impact of COVID-19 on disclosure requirements, particularly related to subsequent events and significant judgements and estimates. Participants will be updated on the work of standards setters to streamline presentation and disclosure. The use of non-GAAP disclosures will also be explained. The seminar will provide insights into areas of disclosure that users and security commissions have found deficient. Real-world example notes and statements will be reviewed to provide participants with a variety of disclosure examples. The course materials are designed to provide a summary of disclosure issues and examples that can be used by participants once the course is completed.
This course is offered to provide participants with an up-to-date review of the disclosure and financial statement presentation standards. In addition, areas to watch out for are highlighted based on reviews by users and regulatory bodies. Up to date sample notes and financial statements are also provided to assist with enhancing participants’ knowledge in this area. Exercises are used to enhance learning of topics.

Participants should be familiar with the CPA Handbook - Accounting Part I - IFRS Standards.
