This course provides a refresher on corporate tax fundamentals and concepts related to income measurement, the calculation of taxes payable, and the treatment of more complex income and deduction items. Participants will explore the application of different tax rates to various types of corporate income, including active business income and investment income, as well as key considerations such as deduction limitations, capital cost allowance and immediate expensing, inducements, debt forgiveness, and integration. Emphasizing core principles throughout, the course is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of how these concepts influence corporate tax outcomes and planning.

Kris Himberg-Larsen is a partner at Wilkinson and Company LLP, received his CA in 2003 and completed the In-Depth Tax Course in 2006. Kris handles complex tax issues involving corporate reorganizations, and tax and succession planning. He mentors staff in house and has been an instructor for the CPAO for ongoing PD courses and at the School of Accountancy.
