Corporate governance has changed significantly since 2019. Many CPAs, whilst technically competent, are recruitment targets to be a member of an Audit Committee or a Board of Directors. As such, CPAs may have accounting and financial expertise, but may lack governance understanding of how boards and committees of boards should operate. To add value and be effective as a Director, beyond accounting, many CPAs have benefited from a landscape presentation on broader legal duties and obligations, including CEO succession and evaluation, strategy, risk, financial and non-financial reporting, and boardroom dynamics. This course will cover these topics, and more.
