In this certificate course, we will explore in depth the 5 digital governance standards created by the Digital Governance Standards Institute in Canada. The Digital Governance Standards Institute, part of the Digital Governance Council is an accredited standards development body. The Institute enables greater trust and confidence in Canada’s digital systems through developing technology governance standards collaboratively across a range of stakeholders. As a discipline, digital governance establishes the processes, policies, standards, and accountability needed to manage the effective and efficient use of technology across organizations and society. The goal of good digital governance is to make participation in the digital economy safe and positive for Canadian people and organizations. The 5 digital governance standards that will be covered in this course are:
- CAN/DGSI 100-7: Data Governance – Part 7: Operating Model for Responsible Data Stewardship
- CAN/DGSI 104: Cyber Security Controls for Small and Medium Organizations
- CAN/DGSI 103-1: Digital Trust and Identity – Part 1: Fundamentals
- CAN/DGSI 100-1: Data Governance – Part 1: Data Centric Security
- CAN/DGSI 118: Cyber Resiliency in Healthcare (applicable to other professions)

His unparalleled acumen in devising strategies for responsible data and digital governance has earned the Digital Governance Council the distinction as preeminent technology leadership council globally. Keith is a provincially appointed member of the Ontario Health Data Council and Chair of its strategic working group on Data Governance and Data Stewardship. Keith is a specialist in the strategic application of standards. Keith was named one of the 10 most influential business leaders in 2023 by The Inc Magazine. Keith graduated with honors from the University of Ottawa with a degree in health sciences. He is married to Kayla and is the loving father of his three small children. |

Malik Datardina, CPA, CA, CISA is the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Strategist for Auvenir. His two decades of experience encompasses audit innovation, audit data analytics (ADAs), risk and security governance.
