Description
The Canadian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (ASB) is responsible for standards-setting for Canadian auditors of financial statements. There are multiple projects annually to maintain and improve auditing standards to meet the expectations of financial statement users. The purpose of this course is to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of these standards and how to apply them in an audit performed in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standards.
High level review of the course This session will allow participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the various Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) as issued by CPA Canada. At the end of the session, participants will be able to apply CAS in the planning, execution and reporting of audit level engagements.

Francis (Frank) Seguin, CPA, CA, has over 26 years of experience in audits and assurance-related standards. He is now a professor at the University of Quebec in Outaouais, and has extensive experience providing accounting, auditing, advisory and consulting services to all types of entities (private, not-for-profit and government). He has worked in professional services’ firm for over 20 years and has performed audit in all Canadian provinces and territories, as well as over 15 countries internationally. He also regularly lectures for both CPA Ontario and CPA Quebec.
