Mark Walters is a semi-retired tax specialist working in the Waterloo Region. Mark was a partner in the tax practice of PwC LLP before retiring from the firm in 2020. He has over 30 years of experience in providing tax services to a variety of public and privately held companies. He has assisted with various issues from estate and succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border expansion, and corporate and personal tax reduction strategies. Mark spent his entire career with PwC LLP (and its predecessor firm Price Waterhouse) beginning as a co-op student in university. Mark started his career in the Hamilton office and transferred to the Winnipeg office in 1997. He returned to Ontario in 2000 and worked in the Mississauga office until transferring to the Waterloo office in 2007. Mark obtained his Bachelor of Mathematics at The University of Waterloo in 1986 and qualified as a Chartered Professional Account (CPA) in 1987. Mark was recently recognized as a Fellow (FCPA) by the Ontario Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants for his contributions to the profession. Mark has served on several boards including The Hamilton Fountain Foundation, The Manitoba Theatre Centre, and The Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation. Mark was a member and past president of the Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club chairing the 2021 and 2022 Turkey Drive fundraising campaigns. Mark currently sits on the Finance Committee of Hospice Waterloo. |
