Join us for our Risk Governance in AI-Driven Finance live in-person seminar at our 69 Bloor East Office and then spend the evening at the Toronto Maple Leafs vs Las Vegas Golden Knights for networking at the Scotiabank Arena. CPA Ontario will host you in a private box which includes a buffet dinner and a seat, with a cash bar.
A member of the PD Learning Team will be in touch with you a couple of days before the game with more logistical details and your digital only ticket to the game.
Risk Governance in AI-Driven Finance:
AI is moving quickly into finance, from forecasting and cash management to anomaly detection and vendor scoring. Alongside the opportunities come new risks: models that stop working as conditions change, poor data quality, vendor dependence, regulatory exposure, and fairness concerns. Regulators in Canada (OSFI, OSC) and globally (EU AI Act, ISO standards) are beginning to set expectations, and boards are asking CPAs how they are governing these tools.
This seminar gives CPAs a structured way to understand AI risks in plain language, learn from real and illustrative cases, and build practical governance tools that fit into existing ERM and audit frameworks.

Prerequisite(s)
Participants should have a general awareness of internal controls and enterprise risk management (COSO/ERM or similar). No technical expertise in AI or data science required.

This is an in-person course held at the CPA Ontario Office, 69 Bloor St E., Toronto, ON M4W 1B3. You must attend the course in-person to receive verifiable CPD hours.
After course ends, participants will need to make their own way to the hockey game on their own. The game will be held at Scotiabank Arena, 40 Bay St., Toronto, ON M5J 2X2.
Directions to CPA Ontario office is on Bloor, about a half block east of Yonge Street. Closest Transit stop is Yonge/Bloor. There is no parking in our building, but there are public lots within walking distance. If you drive, you will need to pay your own parking).

Duane Lee is the founder of InvestMint, a fintech startup helping small and medium businesses take control of their cash and treasury management. Prior to launching InvestMint, Duane held senior roles in Wealth Management and Capital Markets at BMO, where he worked on strategy and new revenue generation. Earlier, he spent years as an investment banker and innovator at Desjardins Capital Markets and in derivative structuring at RBC Capital Markets. He also co-founded a publicly traded, healthcare-focused merchant bank, and has advised leading banks and investors throughout his career. Duane earned an Honours degree from Huron University College and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, both at Western University. When he’s not working, you’ll find him reading, skiing, doing yoga and Pilates, or hanging out with his two kids.
