Description
This hands-on course shows CPAs how to put Claude (Anthropic's AI assistant) to work across the full deliverable creation process. Rather than treating Claude as a generic chat tool, the session is organized around a five-stage process view, so participants leave knowing exactly where Claude fits in their day-to-day work and how to write prompts that produce usable results.
This course covers Claude's core capabilities, how it differs from other GenAI tools (including its data confidentiality posture), and the "Amplification, Not Abdication" principle that keeps professionals accountable for Claude's output. Each stage of the Process View is grounded in real CPA pain points and paired with ready-to-use Claude prompts. Participants will leave with a portable prompt library they can apply immediately.
Note: Registration for this seminar closes August 10, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. (EDT).
Key Takeaways
Upon completion of this session, learners will understand:
- Claude and Anthropic: How Anthropic/Claude differs from other GenAI tools and why this matters for CPAs.
- Amplification, Not Abdication: Claude amplifies professional effort (a 40-word prompt becomes a 400-word memo; a 40-page report becomes a 4-page summary) but professional judgment must remain in the loop.
- The Process View: A five-stage framework that maps every Claude use case to a concrete point in the deliverable creation workflow.
- Pain to Prompt: How to diagnose a workflow bottleneck and convert it into an effective Claude prompt, targeting low-value, high-intensity tasks first.
- Data Confidentiality: Claude's SOC 2 Type II compliance, Anthropic's data-use policies, and how to configure Claude.ai to protect client information.
Who Will Benefit
This course is designed for CPAs in industry and public practice, including those in internal audit, controllership, financial reporting, and advisory roles. No technical background is required.
Technical Requirement(s)
Participants need only a Claude.ai account to follow along with the hands-on prompting exercises. The free version should allow participants to execute prompts. A paid account, however, is needed to use Claude CoWork.
