Description
The sesssion will discuss how the AcSB considers the public interest and professional judgement in its standard setting activites. We will then discuss how the public interest and professional judgement play into recent proposals from the AcSB that will introduce more scalability into the Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and why both are critical to the application of accounting standards.
The session will end with an overview of the AcSB’s scalability related proposals.
Breakfast will be provided for this event.

Armand Capisciolto has served on the Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) since 2015, including as a member, Vice-Chair, and now, Chair. His extensive experience as a standard setter also includes chairing the AcSB’s Private Enterprise Advisory Committee and membership on the IFRS® Accounting Standards Discussion Group. Armand’s breadth of standard-setting experience goes beyond the private sector, including past roles with the Public Sector Accounting Discussion Group and the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board’s Internal Control over Financial Reporting Task Force. Prior to becoming the Chair of the AcSB, Armand was the National Accounting Standards Partner with BDO Canada LLP, where he has spent much of his career.
