Description
This Professional Ethics course addresses the standards of behaviour expected by accounting professionals. Since accountants possess specialized knowledge generally not understood by the public, society puts its faith in the accountant to act in an ethical manner. This course will identify the top five ethical issues in the SME sector and what controls can mitigate unethical behaviour.
We will explore why unethical behavior can be difficult to prevent and detect and also review Canadian examples of corporate unethical behaviour in the last three years.
Participants will be asked to read a number of cases relating to unethical behaviour which will lead to a discussion and review of solutions for each case.

Philip has over 30 years of business experience in Canada, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Ireland and the United States. His organization has implemented assignments across a variety of industries for companies with market capitalizations ranging from $50 million to $2 billion. Before he formed Glenidan Consultancy in 2005 Philip was a Vice-President of Finance at one of the country's largest financial institutions. He is also the founder and Managing Director of Executive Mentors Inc.
