Planning and Budgeting can be a daunting task, particularly when having to align the organization's strategic goals with the annual budget. It is a given that resources often come short of needs, particularly in difficult economic times.
In this workshop, you will learn about using *"Best Practices" essential to an effective planning and budgeting cycle. The workshop will highlight common problems in the planning process and demonstrate key policies and criteria required to prepare an effective budget document. Participants will be able to share practical insights from their organization's perspective and learn about alternative budgeting and forecasting approaches.

Michel A. Piché is a CPA, CMA with over forty years’ experience in accounting, finance and corporate services in both public and private organizations. He spent the last twenty years of his career as Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer in both for-profit and non-profit organizations. His other academic credentials include a Master’s in Public Administration, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Chartered Director (C.Dir.) designation. His interest in planning and budgeting comes from having experienced the constant struggles faced by accounting professionals and operations managers over the years in trying to make sense of a process that can often be chaotic and mostly numbers driven. Over the last four years, Michel has presented this workshop to over 100 CMAs in the Ontario region.
