Description
The increasing amount of data in business requires an understanding of data techniques to report and display actionable information. Infographics are visual representations of data, knowledge or information. Dashboards are easy to read displays of information, showing a graphical presentation of critical business information.
This course will teach you how to use Microsoft Excel to create infographics and dashboards that present quantitative information simply, clearly and compellingly. You will work alongside the instructor to create professional looking infographics and dashboards from scratch using data sets in Microsoft Excel. No graphic design or artistic skills are required. The course is designed to demonstrate how you can use Excel's built-in tools and a little creativity to create visually compelling infographics and dashboards.
Topics Include:
- Learning how to use infographics to present quantitative information simply, clearly, and beautifully.
- Building interactive dashboards in Excel for organizational reporting.
- Making more informed decisions based on collected business intelligence.
- Understanding guidelines and fundamental considerations for creating reports and dashboards.
- Understanding key Microsoft Excel functions and tools used for visual data analysis.

Prerequisite(s)
This is a hands-on workshop and to be able to follow along, participants will need to bring their laptop computers with a working copy of Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Excel for PC, Version 2013 or Version 2016/Office 365 will be used in the demonstration of techniques of this workshop. Participants may use version 2010 as well with minor loss of functionality or older versions with some loss of functionality. Starter Edition will NOT be adequate for this workshop.
