Description
The ability to get that extra power out of Excel and simplify everyday tasks or develop spreadsheets with user interfaces, often depends on knowing small, quick macro routines in VBA. This workshop will cover a range of fundamentals and some of the most-used routines and techniques in Excel VBA. Participants will work hands-on with the instructor on examples using supplied data and templates.

- Introduction to VBA - VBA Fundamentals
- Language Basics - Understanding Objects, Collections, Properties, Methods and Events
- Recording Macros - Understanding the Difference Between Recorded Code and Manual Code
- Manually Adding Functionality by Manipulating Recorded Code
- Debugging and Fault Finding - Common Errors and How to Identify Them
- Prompt for User Input - Understanding Variables, Creating Message and Input Boxes
- Initiating Macros - Initiating Macros through Command Boxes and Events
- Conditional Statements - using IF Statements to Execute Code
- Looping Code - Introducing the Concept of Code that Runs until a Condition is Met
- Taking Macros to the Next Level - Combining Various Concepts Applied to Various Scenarios
- Practical Examples - the Workshop Ends with Significant Time Spent on Real-Life Examples Writing from Scratch

How to Access The Course
- This is a hands-on workshop and to be able to follow along, participants will need to bring their laptop computers with a working copy of Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Excel for PC, Version 2010 or Version 2016/Office 365 will be used in the demonstration of techniques of this workshop. Older versions will result in significant loss of functionality. Starter Edition will NOT be adequate for this workshop.
Hard copy seminar material is NOT provided at seminars.
