Description
Charts and dashboards have become a critical part of management reporting and analysis in the last decade. In this workshop, participants will look at various techniques that use multiple features of Excel to make powerful charts, develop advanced pictorial representations, slice and dice large datasets, build management dashboards, bring interactivity to spreadsheets, and introduce the concept of conditionality in chart displays.
You will learn about many non-standard advanced chart types used in financial reports, management dashboards, and project management reports. You will work hands-on and build a variety of charts that will bring a new standard of professionalism to your management reports, presentations and analysis.
Topics Include:
- Critical concepts in chart selection and development for effectiveness in charting
- Effective data configuration for creating non-standard charts - benchmark charts, thermometers, pictorial charts, advanced Gantt charts, multiple indicator vertical chart, waterfall chart, and more
- Combine key functions like Sumproduct, with data validation, for data slicing and creating interactive secondary dashboard tables
- Creative dashboard concepts by creating a dashboard of various charts and numerical data, with a professional look and feel
- Combine annotations, functions and formulas for charts that display conditional elements based on decision rules
- New Charts available in version 2016 Sunburst and Waterfall Charts and how to use them

Who Will Benefit
This seminar is designed for spreadsheet users who need to create charts and graphs that go beyond standard chart types, and build dashboards from large datasets.
Prerequisite(s)
- This is a hands-on workshop and to be able to follow along, participants will need to bring their laptop computers with a working copy of Microsoft Excel 2010 or better.
- Microsoft Excel for PC, Version 2016 will be used in the demonstration of techniques of this workshop.
- The Excel Starter Edition will NOT be adequate for this workshop.
