Description
The 2025 Federal Election was held in Canada on April 28. It resulted in the Liberal Party of Canada being re-elected to form the government, with Mark Carney serving as the Prime Minister, and the Conservative Party of Canada forming the official opposition.
It is important to note that the Liberal Party did not win a majority of the available seats in the House of Commons. Instead, much like after each of the two previous elections held in 2019 and 2021, there will once again be a “minority government” in Ottawa. Therefore, it will be necessary for the Liberal Party to be supported by other (non-Liberal) members of parliament in order to govern.
Prior to the election, the platforms of the various parties contained many election promises, including those in the area of taxation.
This seminar provides an overview of potential tax implications that may arise as a result of the 2025 Federal election.
