This course unpacks a sensitive area of emotional intelligence: dealing with another person's emotions. Gain insights to understanding verbal and nonverbal emotional signals and learn the best ways to respond to others, even if they are upset or angry. Learn how and why people react differently in certain circumstances to navigate situations in your job and personal life. Improve your ability to get along with others while maintaining clear boundaries and responsibilities.
Develop a Positive Outlook
This course focuses on how we can avoid negative thinking and have an overall positive approach without denying difficulties that arise in life. Learn how to develop this approach, monitor the inner critic monologue in your head, and deal with criticism from others ins constructive way. Explore how to engage in a positive outlook, tools to pay attention to self-talk and how to deal with criticism without taking it personally.
Connect to Others for More Effective Work Relationships
This course explores an empathy process that can help us connect more effectively with others and for more productive teamwork. It can be useful in performance reviews, marketing, customer service, the boardroom and anywhere a variety of people's needs are brought together to form a common strategy. The process is called OFNR and this course will show how to harness the process.
