This course explains one of the most important cryptocurrency networks, Ethereum, and how it is poised to lead the charge for decentralized finance (DeFi). In this course, you will examine the origins and purpose of Ethereum. You will compare how Ethereum's purpose is different from Bitcoin as a digital currency because Ethereum allows the use of Smart Contracts and Decentralized Applications (Dapps). Expect to gain an understanding of how the supply and demand fundamentals of Ethereum are unique. After taking this course, you will have a greater appreciation for the Ethereum network.

Andrew Loo received his MBA from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and his BA in Economics from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining CFI, Andrew worked in financial services for over 20 years in retail, commercial and investment banking roles. Managing Director at Nomura Securities in Hong Kong, he was responsible for managing relationships with the key Central Banks, Sovereign Wealth Funds and other investors, as well as spearheading the firm’s sales efforts into the People’s Republic of China as Chairman of the China Operating Committee.
