Description
This is a comprehensive course on reporting requirements for the underused housing tax. It will also help participants in completing and submitting the forms accurately to the government. These new rules will impact non-residents and Canadians. These rules are effective January 1, 2022, and reportable on the 2022 tax return with the initial due date of April 30, 2023 that has now been extended until April 30, 2024. Non-compliance with UHT could result in significant penalties, starting at C$5,000, which will apply if the taxpayer misses the deadline on April 30, 2024. The government recognized that these new rules have had an impact on many Canadian citizens and permanent residents, leading to the extension of this deadline.
This course will also address anti-flipping rules and other recent changes impacting real estate transactions in Canada.
